Best Guides In Buying Used Cars

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Any used car will usually have minor hitches that will reduce its performance and even looks as in comparison with a new car. But it is yet a worthwhile venture if the car has been properly taken care of. When you go in a car sale you see hundreds of cars. Thus it’s not an easy task always to find at all the details of the car. So, the most important question is how to choose the best car among all the used cars for sale? Well here are several useful advice while buying used cars for sale:

* Carry a small magnet piece with you and check the car body for any filling job done. The magnet will adhere nicely to the body but not so simply to the place which has been filled showing that the car has been through an accident.

* Many dealers lessen the mileage of the car just to bag a higher price for the car. Look at the interiors of the vehicle. Check whether the wear and tear is in sync with the car’s mileage.

* Take a test drive of the car making the radio off. Drive half the distance with air conditioning (AC) off and the rest with it on. Compare the performance of the vehicle and check whether the car accelerates properly with AC on.

* When you get to a dealer where you have hundreds of used cars for sale it is better to accompany with you someone who knows more about cars than you (usually a professional mechanic or technician).

* It is also very essential to check all the paperwork before buying a used car. Be certain the engine number and chassis number on the papers match with the vehicle’s specifications. If possible as well get the car HPI checked. Although it will cost you around 40 pounds but it will inform you whether the car is stolen or not and when and where the car has been serviced along with the complete accidental history of the car.

Follow these guidelines when planning to buy used cars for sale and you can be sure that you will not make a wrong choice.

A Luxury Car That Can Go Fast – The 2011 Jaguar XJ

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Jaguar hasn’t been doing too well with its recent cars. The car market has been hurting in general and Jaguar’s line-up featured nothing new or exciting. But this all changes with Jaguar’s flagship vehicle receiving a complete redo inside and outside.

The luxury market is one that is extremely competitive but the goal of the 2011 Jaguar XJ is to draw in automotive shoppers who may want something different. And the new XJ looks downright sinister. This four door sedan is accented by sweet 20″ rims and has a big supercharged V-8 engine from which it gets all of its power.

The outside has been dressed up and revamped. The glass line has been altered and extended with the rear sloping down to meet the trunk. The roof looks much lower almost like the car has been chopped. The Jaguar looks like it has one unbroken large piece of side glass.

Multiple variations are available for this luxury car with regards to wheel base and motors. The XJ version has the shorter 119in. wheel base and the XJL (L for large) has a 124in. wheel base. The very base model checks in at $72,500 with a DOHC five V-8 motor that produces a substantial 385 hp 385 lb. ft. of torque. The top of the line buys you a supercharged version of the engine cranking out 510 hp and 461 lb. ft. or torque, it also gets you the larger wheel base. Price for everything is $115k for this: the super sport model. Each model comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The XJ suspension is comprised of continuously variable dampeners. The body though has been made quite a bit stiffer over the older models. The curb weight is just over 4,000 lbs., which in the world of luxury cars is considered very lightweight. This enables the XJ perform similar to a car that is much smaller and compact.

In terms of speed, the XJ will rock your world because this car can go super fast. Performance figures check in at 0-60 MPH in 4.4 seconds with the quarter mile zooming by in 12.7 seconds. Surprisingly faster than a Camaro SS or Mustang GT which consider themselves drag strip bruisers. Fuel economy checks in at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway for the smaller engine and 15 mpg city 21 mpg highway for the 510 hp version. The Jaguar has an electronically controlled rear differential to put the power down. The interior was designed to be opulent and luxurious with rich and high quality leather appointed seating, gorgeous wood trim and ample accessories. The gauges grow bright where the needle is and the XJ has a sport mode. The Jaguar XJ also rocks a state of the art stereo with amazing sound.

If you are interested in a luxury car then you might want to check out the XJ. This car is so good looking, incredibly fast and so luxurious.

Hiring A Luxury / Executive Coach – Advice From An Expert

Friday, August 27th, 2010

There are many reasons for which you might want to hire a coach. Maybe you want to take your employees on a trip somewhere (for work purposes or team building), maybe you want to organize a special day out for your family or friends, maybe you want to go to a sports game in a different city with your fellow supporters. Whatever the occasion, hiring a coach makes much more sense than having everyone make their own way to and from and destination. And, if you are going to hire a coach, why not opt for a luxury or executive one? The cost is still very affordable and you can travel in comfort and arrive in style.

Whatever the occasion, if you arrange executive coach hire, the travelers will be in excellent spirits on arrival. Everyone loves to travel in style and a smart, high spec coach with tables, lamps, curtains and comforts such as air conditioning are all appreciated. You can enhance the mood further by serving drinks and nibbles, and playing music during the journey. If you are taking guests to an event, it is an excellent way to brief guests in advance about the event, giving them important information or just setting the scene.

Some people will say “Why travel by coach when you can travel by car or train?” Well, cars, of course, are what most of us are used to using for traveling about on a daily basis and that probably makes it hard for some people to look at the situation objectively, as they simply ‘love’ their car. For getting to work or popping to the shops then, yes, cars are best (though not for the environment!), but for a special occasion, especially a social occasion, then it makes sense to do something a little different. As well as making the occasion stand out as being different, by hiring a luxury or executive coach there will be no problems with getting lost or finding a parking space.

Booking one of these first class coaches is really simple, as many executive coach hire and luxury coach hire companies now have their own websites. A quick search on Google will bring up plenty of options. On the websites you can see pictures of the coaches, check on availability, ask questions and make bookings. If you prefer, you can still phone them up too though.

So, what are you waiting for?

Motorhome Purchase – Advice From An Expert

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

It is easy to decide you want a motorhome, indeed, owning one is a growing trend, however, it may be difficult to decide which one is the right one for you, especially for somebody who knows little to nothing on the subject. With this in mind, what follows are some tips to help you understand and find the right motorhome for you.

- How many people will generally be sleeping in the motorhome? The first thing you need to know is the amount of people you expect to be sleeping in the motorhome. There are motorhomes designed to comfortably sleep just two people, all the way up to those designed to sleep ten, if you intend to simply escape for the weekend with your partner then you can happily make do with a ‘2-berth’, whereas if you want to take the children with you, or perhaps you want to go away for a group retreat then you will need a larger motorhome, perhaps a ‘6-berth’. It is important to know that even a motorhome labeled as a ‘6-berth’ may be unable to fit six adults easily.

- What amenities should your ideal motorhome come with? While there are motorhomes out there decked out with myriad features and amenities, you do have to pay extra to get those kinds of special motorhomes. As a result, try to break down your wants to the most essential ones, and see what you can actually afford. Figure out which ones you feel you simply cannot live without, such as the number of double beds, the presence of a freezer, flat screen TVs or table TVs, and many more. Once you figure that out, you will have a better idea of what to expect.

- Will you be traveling over rough road or sticking to highways and other paved roads? Do not buy a motorhome before you have carefully considered the type of terrain you will be covering on your journey. If the destination you have in mind involves routes that are muddy or rocky, a 4×4 motorhome model or one that is specially made to handle off-road travel will be most suitable for you. But if you have planned long-distance driving trips that are not likely to stray from paved road, the standard motorhome will be the best choice.

- How many miles will the motorhome yield you per gallon of gas? Gas costs are a very important consideration to factor in, as the size and weight of the motorhome and its contents will heavily determine the number of miles you can use for the gas you purchase. For the most part, 2 berths will get you 35 mpg, and as they get bigger, the mileage decreases until you get the 10mpg motorhomes that carry many people and have all the amenities. If you get an LPG-conversion motorhome, you will only pay about half as much for gas as normal.

Information On Fuel Delivery Systems

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Knowledge about the inner workings of the cars we drive on a daily basis it not typically high on our list of priorities. Of course, while it is not mandatory to know about the nuts and bolts of your car, a little knowledge can help you avoid some future expenses for repairs, maintenance and fuel costs. With an eye towards building that knowledge, let’s take a look at how a car’s fuel delivery system works. We are going to move through the fuel delivery system of the car beginning with the fuel tank. Fuel starts at the pump hose where you purchase it and enters the tank where it remains until called into use to be sent to the engine. Fuel tanks vary in size with the type of vehicle but they all function identically. The fuel pump which is a vital part of the fuel system is located int he gas tank. This device looks like a pole stuck to a platform, and the platform is a fuel filter. The importance of the pump is evident by the job it performs of pulling the fuel up through the filter and into the tube which leads to the line that sends the gasoline to the engine. When the gasoline comes through the fuel line into the engine, it runs through another fuel filter. These filters are removing harmful debris and particles that will cause your engine to run less efficiently. The more filters in your system, the better your engine will run. After this second filter, the gasoline is pushed through a fuel rail, across the top of the engine, and down into the fuel injectors. The injectors spray it into the combustion chamber where the real action is. The above references the internal combustion engine which has remained nearly the same for the past 40 years. This is one area of the vehicle that was done correctly the first time. While the filters have been improved and the fuel flow has been altered to allow a computer to increase the overall efficiency, it has generally not changed. Now that you understand more about the fuel delivery system of your vehicle, why not learn more about your vehicle – like how tire pressure effects driving or how the various systems in the car are connected?
